glucose test for sreening of diabetes and to check insulin resistance

When patients who is going through glucose test, first they are advice not to take anything through mouth except water for at less nine to ten hours. Most of the glucose test are done in the morning as to get a postiive results. Patient who is not feeling well are instructed not to have their glucose test taken as most of the time the results may not reflect the patient's glucose metabolism when healthy.

During the glucose test, blood is drawn for measurement of glucose ( blood sugar ) for sreening of diabetes and to check the patients insulin resistance, and sometimes reactive hypoglycemia. Urine test are sometimes used during our glucose test to get a faster and accurated results. A standard 2 hour OGTT is sufficient to diagnose or exclude all forms of diabetes mellitus and OGTT is to diagnosis of reactive hypoglycemia.
